I was wondering what are some potential problems with back-feeding a LM7805 voltage regulator with 5V from a USB port.
I know I can use a simple diode from the output to the input to counter this but is there any real concern to leave it without a diode?

well I think a dead or damaged 7805 is a bit of a concern ;)
