    I've just proved the SCR by soldering a wire where the middle pin was and tapping the other end on the trigger transformer and hey presto it fires.

    Thanks for your help with that.

    will this do it.

    I can only get the MCR100-6g

    Got a schematic of your interruptor/trigger circuit? This determines the current available to trigger the SCR. The original SCR is ~50μA
