Ive had a aqualisa lumi shower sitting in its box for well over a year because the two inductors that were inline to the control pcb which works the touch sensetive panel to turn on/off , gave up the magic smoke., after one days use.
Im not sure if i done it by removing molex plug while power was on??? To take the front panel off! But nothing else happened for a problem to arise!
    The inductors are-
    AIAP -02 -123k power inductor
aqualisa lumi elec pics 016.jpg I stripped the outer off to see whats what!!
    Both read dead short.....
where can i get say 4 or 5 of them ? places ive found sell hundreds!
Do maplin in uk do a service ?? to buy specific components in if people want them?
aqualisa lumi elec pics 015.jpg Heres where ive bridged out the inductors on red and white wires, itll probally work without them but what are they for?? To stop any interferance of the touch sen. thingy majig??

Quite likely inductor like that may read "dead short" and be ok.
It depends what you used to measure the device.
    I'm guessing a multimeter.

You might want to try DigiKey to purchase small quantities, i.e., less than a lot of 5000. This particular model should measure about 29.9 ohms (not a dead short!), have an inductance of about 12 mH (12000 μH), and carry a maximum current of 0.11 A. See this pdf file for specifications of this and other models in this series.

Gee, I wish I had an electric shower. Mine runs out of hot water in less than an hour with a 50 gallon hot water tank. So much for taking "Hollywood Showers" here in beautiful, sunny, Venice, Florida. Oh well, there is still the Gulf of Mexico only a mile away and that should be nice when it warms up later this summer.:D I have heard that some submariners on nuclear-powered boats are awarded unlimited or "Hollywood Shower" privileges for outstanding service. Maybe sailors on nuclear-powered aircraft carriers, too, but the average homeowner doesn't have access to that kind of heat. Still, if you can afford it, a 10 kW electric shower should do the job. Good luck finding and replacing your inductors.

I'm not sure I understand. Did you replace the inductors (which measure as a dead short) with a dead short, and the device started working again?

If so, it sounds like there was a bad solder joint or some other connection rather than a problem with this inductors.
