I'm not sure if I'm at the right spot for this question, but many people seem knowledgeable about napco security systes, thought I would give it a try.
Currently, I own a Napco GEM-P801. Works fine. What I am interested in is having an external system monitor the system. (LinuxMCE if anyone cares).
My first task is getting something out of the GEM-P801 system via rs232.
In my research, similar systems communicate with monitoring software via rs232.
Am I barking up the wrong tree, am I headed in the right direction, or is this a lost cause.
Please let me know.
Kevin
