I’ve just joined this site. I hope I can get some help. The concept seems simple. I want my dog wear a fob on her collar so when she gets near the door, an automatic opener opens the door. The opener can easily be installed to work with a button or a keypad but with a fob seems tough. Can anyone help?

Such pet access hatches already exist.

We had our cats microchipped to stop a stray following them indoors and the chip is sensed by the hatch and unlatches it for access.

The hatch is fully programmable for direction (in/out), time(s) and day/night - they even do one for dogs.....

Thanks but the dog is very large and the door is almost entirely made of glass. Those types of pet doors won't work in my application.

    How large is 'very'?

The product caters for dogs up to 45kg and the video on this page shows the comparative size of the doors (showing the largest) which, TBH, even I could crawl through (6ft 2in, 250lbs)!

I would not be able to put that product in my glass door.
