A Harmon/kardon AVR 100 US model 110V was accidently plugged into 220V instead of a transformer. Needless to say the damage to both pride and amp are high. How much damage to amp, and can it be repaired easily and at reasonable cost?

Ouch. You're going to have many many components that are going to be dead, or degraded. Have you opened it up? Depending on the design, most of the entire primary side could've been toasted.

I'd say a repair may not even be doable, if the controller IC for the supply is dead. Unless you manage to find one, that is. :) Even worse, if the transformer has bit it, you'd need to find out all the specs on it to have one custom wound, most likely. Who knows though, maybe they designed this thing decently well and only a few components gave up.

Harmon Kardon is usually known for good quality, no idea if they're using OEM power supplies though.

Can't vouch for your amplifier. Over the years I've fried 3 different devices on 220vac in foreign countries (US 120vac devices). In all cases, transformer was destroyed.
Good luck.
