well i have a winter project in mind. my motorcycle needs a bit of love this year. my idea is to have audi style white leds in the head lights for running lights and also have amber for turn signals. to me the simplest method to power my running light leds would be to tie into the running lights already on the bike. same with the turn signals. my problem is is there a method or device to cancel out the running lights when the turn signal is applied? say im driving my running lights are on. i flip the switch to turn left and the white leds cut out (and stay off not blink yellow then white then yellow.) and only the amber leds blink. any ideas? a buddy who is in school for electrical engineering said a relay. any opinions?

Yes, a relay is the way to go.
