You could measure an earthquake with Amplitude, or the sound pressure created by the flapping of hummingbird wings. Amplitude is simply a description of a wave-form. Amplitude & Frequency. Both terms apply to any wave-like object from Radio and light, to the vibrations felt driving on the road.
