Interesting viewing. Claiming that the sun's energy output is due to some
external electrical source rather than an internal nuclear reaction is
obviously controversial.

The argument for the outgassing of comets being due to electrically-induced
sputtering rather than Sun-induced evaporation is an interesting one, too.

And seemed to me to be quite a solid one.

However, suggesting that Venus is some super comet that recently (within the
last few thousand years) rained plasma down onto the Earth, and caused
seemingly isolated civilizations to see the same Medusa-like plasma display,
is a pretty wild claim.

Pretty wild but fascinating that the same themes occur in so many widespread ancient
civilisations. Certainly very thought provoking.

I wish I knew more about plasma, nuclear, and gravitational physics to
discuss these concepts intelligently -- although that hasn't really ever
stopped anyone on Usenet before, has it?

LOL !

Thanks for the link.

YW.

Where did I express an opinion on its veracity ? It was a fascinating watch
though. It's good to exercise the mind.

If you are that open minded be careful your brains don't fall out when
you bend over.
Delusional nonsense. Nothing useful and not worth watching beyond the
first few minutes.
Also total nonsense. Cometary brightness models are not perfect but
basically they do work according the expected volatility of their
constituents. We can actually see two clear tails on comets. One of
light ions that pretty much points directly away from the sun and is
blueish, and a second heavier white dust tail that sits along the
trajectory of the comets movement give or take a bit of drift from the
influence of light pressure.

Hale Bopp showed both tails very clearly and was a naked eye object to
boot.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comet_Hale-Bopp
It also helped eliminate one cult of delusional nutters (Heavens
Gate). Darwin award and bar.

Modern spectroscopy allowed the tails to be analysed remotely. We have
even flown spacecraft into comets.

This is Velikovskyism in some new age form. Barking mad isn't quite
rude enough to describe it.
And almost as delusional as Nancy and the Zetas or Ed Conmans "Man as
Old as Coal" claims.
Could it solve the 'dark matter' question ?

Only by replacing it with total bullshit.

Martin Brown

And you must be one of the "flat earthers".

Nothing can beat a closed mind ! Like religion for example whether deistic or
warmingistic.

I found the entire video very fascinating and challenging. I guess some people
really did believe the Earth was flat a long time ago too.

So most of the stuff in the universe is off sulking in the dark, huh?

Yes about 90% of it, the astronomers say. Dense clouds of charged
particles would help go a LONG way to explaining it.

You mean like Anthropogenic Global Warmingists ?

Not exactly. More like the crackpots (including you) who deny the
reality of anthropogenic global warming.

If you don't know any physics worth a damn, your mind can be open to
remarkably fatuous nonsense.

Your mind does seem to be getting too much of the wrong kind of
exercise. Those areas responsible for your gullibility do appear to be
hypertrophied, and your capacity for scepticism seems to be woefully
under-developed.

You urgently need to enrol your mind at the Open University for a
couple of physics courses. If your mind were a body builder, it would
have over-developed grasping muscles in the hands and forearms, wilth
the rest of the musculature atrophied to the point where you could
neither pick up nor manipulate the material that you had grasped.

Pretty much, yeah. That's kinda why there are so many miserable people,
too. The Will is the feeling part of everything.

Thanks,

I found the entire video very fascinating and challenging. I guess some
people really did believe the Earth was flat a long time ago too.

Of course they did! They used "empirical" evidence. My Mom explained it
when I was very small - "It's so BIG round it FEELS flat." ;-)

But, I wonder if they just discovered stuff (like atoms, Newton's laws,
etc.), or if they invented it, altering the Consensus Reality. How could
we know? ;-)

But then again, I believe that the pyramids, sphinx, etc. were built by
Lemurian slave labor, who moved the blocks by levitation, under the
direction of Atlantean engineers. >:->

The dinosaures weren't wiped out by some meteor, they were wiped out
when the Atlanteans over-amped the Great Crystal, which blew up and
not only killed all the dinosaurs, but sunk Atlantis itself.

Cheers!

Are you still going to be here when the truth finally comes out ?

Probably not - I've just turned 66 so I'm most likely to die sometime
around 2025 with some sort of age-related problem, rather than in some
kind of global extinction event brought on by runaway anthropogenic
global warming.
