Its not a stunt, this is a last effort to free up a locked compressor when you
know there is not another problem and the compressor is not burnt out or the
hermetic pump inside blown or any windings worn or degraded. And no-one that is
not knowledgeable in air conditioning repair should even attempt to repair an
AC unit...

If this is a response to my posting, I was not implying it was a useless
technique, only that you had better be darn sure that all other options
are exhausted and you know what you are doing, or it may destroy the
compressor. Too many people will get confused and NOT overlook a simple
problem and end up ruining the AC.
