ADI/Honeywell and NAPCO

Dealers,

I don't know how many of you dealers have gotten this message yet but
NAPCO has elected to as of January 5, 2004 discontinue distribution of
its products through ADI/Honeywell/ADEMCO distribution...

NAPCO stated that "It has made the choice to discontinue its
relationship with a company that openly competes in instillation and
monitoring with its own customers ... you the dealer!!!"

Cool!!!

Now lets boycott DSC... bla bla bla ADT/TYCO!!!

True. The 20-minute hold time only commences *after* you get through
redialing about five or ten times to get past the constant busy signals
because DSC doesn't have enough lines to handle all the callers.


Absolutely true.


Bear in mind that this was a Napco decision. They're not hurting for
distributors. Allan, I get Napco from a distributor who treats my account
like gold. Their prices are consistantly better than ADI ever was, even
with an across-the-board volume discount. If you'd like to speak with them
call me.

I too find Napco support to be "at least average or above"

I like Napco, and have used only their controls-keypads for about 20
years.

I know that Wade Moose and many of his peers will be glad to have the
additional business that will now come their way.

Wade Moose also told me about why ADI does not carry the Elk products.
He (in my opinion) is much better off with selling the Elk products
through his own and other (less ADI) distribution centers.

That's because I actually *work* for a living... Someone's gotta be out
there installing and servicing the panels that communicate with CS's like
yours... Just because I don't call you for tech support doesn't mean I
don't care... :))

I don't know if you remember this but you and I had a lengthy private
discussion about six years ago. We share the same basic ideas about
security. Let me know if you decide to go to EH Expo this spring. I'd like
to meet for coffee. The wife and I will be there together.


He's a good guy -- one of the few people in the industry who only does it
because he enjoys it. Many of the people who work for him have been with
him for years and they seem to love it.
