I need some help, I have installed the Ademco 6160V talking keypad,
using it with the via 30PSE alarm panel.

I want it to always speak the faults "Fault - back door"

IT all works fine, until I ARM and DisArm the alarm pannel...

For it to start speaking again I have to press the (*) each time after
it has been disarmed...

IS there a way for IT to ALWAYS speak, without haveing to press the
(*) after every entry ??

Also, is there a way for the backlight to stay on ??

I LOVE this KEY PAD...

Try turning on the chime mode.

That keypad was designed to be used on the newer systems. Try changing the
panel to a Vista20P or Vista20PS. It will then work the way you want it to.

It works just as well on that old system as it will a P or PS

Then all he needs to do is turn the chime mode on.

I do have the chimes ON, and it does work, BUT ONLY after each Dis-arm
I have to press the (*).
And IF I have two faults, say the back door open and front door open,
ONLY the one zone will speak.. Example: Back door open, (stays open)
IF I open the front Door, then it will say "Fault - back door open"
....??

Yes that is just how they are I think, the 6150 is the same. They are
not quite the same as the Lynx Voice feature, Not as loud either.
Havent tried the Chime By Zone yet, but in the Lynx we never had to
enable that. Try that though. Its in Program mode, not just chime on
the Keypad. Ill try it out tomorrow and get back to you.
