Hi there,
I got a design job in IC power electronics. I am just wandering what
kind of EAD tools those big companies, such as Maxim and linear, are
using? I am a student at school. We are using Cadence as our IC design
tool. Is this the same case in industry? Thanks.

In general, yes. Cadence is *the* industry standard for IC design.
However, it is very, very expensive, like $50k a seat, per year. Linear
Tech use err.. LTSpice...

A runner up is Mentor.

An alternative that has quite a lot of all the main features required in
ic design, is orders of magnitude cheaper in price, e.g. mosfet binning,
worst case analysis is...err SuperSpice:)
