This is not really a repair question, but I am looking for a solution to a problem. I recently purchased the earbud device shown in the attached photo. As you'll notice it has only one earbud, and yet it has a 2.5mm plug that is designed for stereo earbuds. For this reason the device is only sending audio from one channel of the stereo source to the single earpiece. I am wanting to get the sound from both channels to the one ear (I listen to music on the job, but need to be aware of my surroundings.) Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think I should be able to bridge the gap between two of the contacts on the plug to bring the missing channel into play, but I have no idea which gap to bridge. If anyone is knows and wouldn't mind helping me out I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks in advance for any information you can share.

it looks more like a single earphone and there's probably a microphone as well
like what would be used for hands free mobile phone use

go buy a proper stereo earbud unit :)

Yeah, that fourth contact on the plug makes it more than just 'stereo'.
Like davenn said, wrong earbud for what you want.
