Hi All,
Just wanted to mention that I am extremely grateful to all the folks
that replied when I asked about how to check the current draw of a pump
using a DVOM. I have had many replies direct to my e-mail address and
several on the newsgroup. I really appreciate the time and effort.

For what its worth you should all know that the pump I wanted to test is
in a Mercedes that I am refurbishing after many years of service. The
techs felt that the pump was drawing too much current (due to age and
increasing resistance) which was tripping the air conditioning off. A
replacement would have cost hundreds of dollars. With the amperage
reading I was able to obtain I now know that the pump is still
performing to spec and we are continuing to search for the glitch
elsewhere. That money would have been completely wasted.

Now some folks might wonder why I am making such a fuss. Well, the
answer is simple. I have also joined several Mercedes discussion forums
while this project is underway and have asked the same (and other)
questions on the forums. I rarely received any answers and even then it
would take days.

In contrast I have asked a few questions on this NG and have always been
answered very quickly and always by several people.

Thank you all very much.

Jim
