Hi,
Although this isn't exactly a VCR repair group, I'll give it a try: first
one is Salora 623N, with Sanyo's "009" chassis. Problem is that on play,
picture is noisy and horizontal jitter all over. Rec is OK... I thought it
might be the servo chip XRU2797S, but I couldn't find even a datasheet for
it.
The second one is a Grundig VS-660. Immediately after inserting cassette,
it goes into FF. Timings are correct and the mode switch has been replaced.
I don't have the original remote so I can't use the service codes

thought it might be the capstan which is faulty? Is there a way to measure
or anything to find out if it's really it? Oh, and if anyone knows a
VCR-repair dedicated newsgroup, other than alt.video.vcr, let me know. A
similar forum would be nice too.
