    What you're looking at here is essentially Newton's laws of motion, albeit a case that's probably not in a way I remember from my year 11 and 12 physics classes.

    However I'd probably recommend a high-school level physics book. I recommend this for several reasons:
    1. There's lots of them, so a second hand purchase will be cheap.
    2. If it turns out not to be exactly what you need, you'll not be too out of pocket.
    But I seriously do recommend Khan Academy. It's a free on-line resource and all the experiences I've had with it have been positive, although there are criticisms (see here and here). Here's a talk by Salman Khan on the idea. He's funded by Bill Gates, so it's funded by your Microsoft taxes.
