Hi,

This is my first post so please go easy on me!

Im wanting to build a circuit that can convert a 0-5V 5mA signal into a 0-48V 500mA output - Ive found a lot of simple op amps for smaller voltages but none up to 48V.

I want the output to be variable and controlled by the input voltage.

Any advice would be much appreciated!

Thanks,

Andrew

You could use a standard op-amp to drive a transistor (FET?) follower running from a 60V supply. Attenuated feedback to the op-amp would set the output voltage.

An alternative would be to use an audio amplifier which can be used in a DC feedback circuit. I do not know the numbers.

You will need a powerful supply and a lot of heat sinking.

Hi Andrew
Is there a reason why the input must draw 5 mA? Can it be less?
