    i got a swich rated 6a 250ac,
    will it be enough for powering dc power adapter, rated 12v 10a.

    No. DC current rating of switches is lower than the AC rating.

    What side of the adapter is switching, primary or secondary ?

    the swich is before power adapter.
    it is swich for ac

    OK

    then a 6A 250V switch should be OK
    There would be around 0.5 - 1A flowing on the primary side

    It could be easily worked out .... too early in the morning for me to do that here

    I take back my reply. It is okay for switching the primary.
