12V / 24V CHARGER / STARTER

Hi. Could anyone point me to where I might find a circuit diagram for a 12V / 24V CHARGER / STARTER.

I'm about to take it apart to see why it doesn't work, but I don't know what to expect.

I haven't got the device at hand so I can't quote a model number right now, but if I can even see a circuit diagram for another model, it will at least give me an idea what to expect to find in there.

The fault appeared when switching from CHARGE to START.

How does that actually take place?

Is there a relay involved, since the wires going to the switch are obviously not actually carrying the starting current?

I would look at relay contacts and motor brushes.

It's a Cemont Velox 420

It doesn't have a motor.

It's a battery charger come booster for starting commercial vehicles.

I can't find any data anywhere :-(

I found some details, it is a manually controlled charger.
12/24V 38A 15kg

It probably has a simple circuit which can be traced. It will have a tapped transformer, rectifier and ammeter.

You could be right about the wire sizes.
