    Instead of putting yourself at risk, do not repair the door on a microwave oven. Instead replace it. Some microwave ovens require almost complete disassembly to remove the door. At this point its probably cheaper to replace the oven.

    I suspect you have a bad jungle IC. Its the IC the crystal resonator is linked to. The resonator is used for horizontal not vertical.

    If you have a 21 inch CRT type TV you will spend more time to fix the issue than to replace the set. It sounds like a classic weak CRT....

    If you have a schematic for the TV, you will be looking for a capacitor off of the vertical output IC near the pin that says "pump up" on it. It will be a electrolytic type. Its not a bad idea to replace all of the electolytic caps off of the vertical output at this point.
