    Current rise in 12v pump

I think the mechanical piece that engages the pressure switch is bad. There was a small housing at the top of the pump which I disassembled and found the pressure switch. The switch works fine and will turn off the pump however the mechanical piece behind it that actuates the switch doesn't seem...

    Current rise in 12v pump

Thanks very much, looking at that Amazon link does this product look like it shouldn't be stalling? If not, when ordering another one what should I be looking for?

    Current rise in 12v pump

Hi everyone Got a DIY project I need some help with. I know very little of motors & pumps. I have a 12v water pump (link to pump: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00EIA8UPK/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) that I'm running from a 12v SLA battery. I have a hose connected to the...

    Old PC PSU Fan issue.

Thanks for your info, I don't think this particular PSU was that complex. I had a spare ground and 12v wire inside the PSU that I couldn't connect to the ring terminals I installed (Terminal was too small) and just connected them straight to the wires from the fan after cutting them to the...

    Old PC PSU Fan issue.

Hey guys A semi-electronics noob here. I recently turned an old 350 Watt Dell ATX PC power supply into a multi voltage bench power supply for testing basic circuits. I opened up the machine and cut some wires and ran the 3.3v, 5.5v, 12v and ground wires to some terminal posts, and it all works...

    Random LED Colour Changer

Kris, thank you so much. This is exactly what I needed, you've been a great help. I should be able to source all these parts and build a prototype on a breadboard, if all goes well I'll do my best to condense it down and find a way of mounting it. I'm going to save your image and your...

    Random LED Colour Changer

Aye, I don't think that's really an issue. It's only ever for staff. At max there'd only be 2 people leaving at once.

    Random LED Colour Changer

Thank you for your help! Power can be anything - whatever is most efficient. I'm in the UK so I can run it from 240, or from a wall wart of any voltage (I'll buy whatever is best and make it work). Battery would be good, but I want to it be running around 11 hours a day. 50/50 is best. I want...

    Random LED Colour Changer

That seems like a good solution and not something I thought of, what components would I need? I plan to do this using a small breadboard, mounting it inside a small plastic box and attaching it to a wall. I'd need a minimum of 2 LEDs. What would I need for the counter and timed latch? Thanks

    Random LED Colour Changer

Hi all Need some advice today, I need help in building a small circuit. I have a decent understand of the main types of electrical components, I've done a fair bit of repair work in my time but I've never had to build a whole circuit. (Except for when working straight off a diagram/guide). What...

    Motion Alarm Help

Gryd3, thank you for the detailed response I followed your advice and it worked. Using the "20" setting on DC current, I got a reading of 0.02A. This time the siren worked and the LED came on. I'm guessing this current isn't correct, it is too low?

    Motion Alarm Help

Hey guys, so I did as instructed by Gryd3 the diagram helped, thank you. My multimeter shows a reading of 8.3v, HOWEVER there appears to be no power going to the board. When I turn the board on, no LED's shine and no siren is made. I had it set up like this, I tried it other ways but got no...

    Motion Alarm Help

I'm afraid I don't follow your instructions, most likely due to my lack of knowledge. When you say unsnap, do you mean cut the wire from the battery connector or desolder it from the board, place a probe from the meter on there and then where would I put the other probe?

    Motion Alarm Help

I tried my TV remote and yes that does affect it to a point. When I switch on the receiver the alarm goes and everytime I press a button using the remote infront of the receiver there is a slight dip in the frequency of the sound. This dip in frequency is made every time I press a button, so the...
