I have a Sony Model #: KV-32V65 Manufactured date: Sept 1998

We were watching television, and all of a sudden, the television
"turned off". No audio or video.

The standby/timer light just flashes steadily when powered on. I've
unplugged it for a time period and back on with no luck. I searched
the newsgroup, but nothing helpful on understanding this.

The picture was perfect before it went out. I bought this tv brand
new 4 years ago. Any suggestions?

Thanks--
Ron

A job for a technician trained in and experienced with Sony.

The only information you have provided is very general and basic.
All I can tell you at this point is the tv is in a fault condition (blinking
LED) and no picture. Beyond that a proper diagnosis and troubleshooting by
someone with the training and experience on Sony tv sets is in order.

It needs servicing... Either do 1 of 2 things. Take it to a shop and let
them fix it, or take a course in TV repair and attend Sony training sessions
to learn how to fix it yourself. Your problem can be caused by many things.
One needs to use a logical system of troubleshooting to find the problem.
This takes knowlege and skills. If this were easy, everyone would be doing
it. I'm not trying to be a wise-ass, just giving you some reality.

Sony repair guy came to my house, replaced two parts on the power
supply, and one part on the mainboard.

Hopefully he resoldered that other thing on the mainboard.
