Oil Temp display system

Hi

I am in need of some (probably very basic) advice on how to construct an oil temp readout in a car.

I would like it to consist of an led display, for which i would assume requires some sort of logic to convert sensor output to the numeric value?

Any advice??

This value should be somewhere in MCU, and should be able to pick up from CAN bus.
