How to use an H11AA1 optocoupler to make a missing half sine wave mains detector

Hi all,
I have no knowledge in electronics.
In my project I'm driving multiple stepper motors controlled by an Arduino.
I need to stop the steppers and write their position to EEPROM in case of power shortage.
I was told to try an H11AA1 but I'm lost !
The other idea is to use an UPS with a TTL signal. But I don't know how to choose one.
Any suggestions pls ?

Using an opto coupler as a zero cross detector, stated another way when
zero cross no longer occurs of line there is a power outage. Use that as
an interrupt to signal line loss.
