32" Apex stereo tv model:AT3208S,chassis:CH-10C,year:Oct 2003,UL
Listed:58EJ.No power,upon troubleshooting I found VD873=BYM26D (B+
rectifier diode) in SPMS power supply board to be shorted,I checked
the HOT,all diodes and resistors where they seem fine.I also rang the
flyback and yoke where they tested good.
Anyone have any common repair tips and does anyone have generic
equivalent part #'s,OEM's and an NTE (as I could not find one)?.Thanks

If it's just the standard diode that makes your 130v supply for the
horiz output that is shorted a FR305 (RCA 164589) is a diode you
probably have laying around if you ever work on RCAs and it works great
for any power supply rectifier. Usually no other damage is done when
this diode shorts, just replace it and you're good to go. Don't ever
use NTE diodes.
